HIP Campers CEO Vassil Petev was a guest on Business Start, the start-up programme of Bloomberg TV Bulgaria hosted by Hristo Nikolov. He explains that the company aims for one percent of the European market for premium motorhomes, which sells about 80,000 units a year.
Besides the first model, a family motorhome already being assembled at the time, two more models were being prepared: one for young couples and one for retired couples. Parts of the chassis and engine come from Mercedes-Benz, and many of the other parts are made in Bulgaria. Petev also explains why HIP Campers chose the premium segment instead of competing on price.
